Grand Theft Auto IV PS3 Help

By: Jon Asslexiaha

Since the first game was released, the success of the Grand Theft Auto series has been one outstanding game after another, and it has proven to be one of the most well-known gaming franchises ever created. As more titles has been released over the past years, it was not only an achievement for the said franchise but for the whole of the video gaming industry. And for those who was played this game, you can pretty much tell how it has propelled the Sandbox genre as a hit among gamers. With this ninth iteration from the well-known series, GTA 4 picks off where GTA 3 ended. And although the story line remains the same, expect a different kind of adventure with GTA 4 as the series has promised fans with each title released.

While every GTA story has been carefully crafted to offer a much different kind of experience, you can always expect it to have the same intense and spectacular nature. However, with GTA 4, it aims to take the storyline to a whole new vantage point. With Niko, an ex-soldier who tries to escape from his troubled past, as the main focus of the story, players will join him in his quest to overcome anything that awaits him in the equally grimy Liberty City. Niko does not have trouble fitting in because of his rugged and rough appearance, and here is where all the fun of exploring Liberty City starts. But unlike previous GTA characters, Niko has specific objectives to achieve and giving more weight into the overall gameplay experience. If in previous GTA games you have engaged yourself in mindless rampages, with Niko you have to remain focused on the objective at hand and remain true to that.

As for the other characters (even random ones) that are in GTA 4, they have improved significance as far as storyline is concerned in this game. For the most part, they will greatly impact the decisions Niko has to make in the game that involve a few characters and it will have repercussions in the game. Meanwhile, building relationships is a key in this game and unlike other GTA games, you will have to think them through.

More than the impressive gameplay, Liberty City is the perfect setting for an incredible game like GTA 4 and it just looks impressively stunning. It should be interesting to know that the city provides a very interactive setting allowing you to have access to whichever part of the city; which is definitely a good thing, considering its intricate details.

But that is just a preview of what GTA IV is really about. It now sports elements that were either brand new, or much improved from past GTA games. One feature that probably seen the most improvement in this one is the combat system. Rockstar has decided to infuse some sophistication and depth into this game by providing more excitement into the combat, hence placing it next to some of today's best shooters. There is still the free-aim feature, but the new lock-on feature will surely improve your accuracy. With this, it is now possible to set your aim on the nearest opponent and fire at them with unwavering accuracy. And by a simple press of the corresponding button, you will see your enemies blasting to pieces. This game also sports off a new cover system. You can make your character go behind or take cover from the nearest object by pressing on R1. This will enable your character to effectively cover from your enemies' view and is a great way to deal with an overwhelming number of enemies. What this new feature does is that you can minimize the any form of damage that can possibly get your character killed. These new features certainly help to upgrade the level of gaming experience that gamers were already expecting of a Grand Theft Auto game.

If that sounds impressive, then GTA IV's all-new in-car combat system will further heighten the thrill that comes with this game. With a great lineup of combat tools at your disposal, it is amazing how this new feature can be utilized to your advantage and yet it is nothing less as effective as your regular on-foot combat. While driving a car, it is now possible for players to lock on the nearest target. It is still possible to free-aim at your enemies through the car's window. If before, getting to shoot someone while you're driving proved to be quite a task, this time around everything is so much better. All these features are aimed at continuing with the reputation of GTA over the years, and that is providing good, quality in-game combat.

It is important to touch on the mission structure for GTA IV because it is one of the pillars of this particular game. With the success of previous GTA games, this game utilizes that winning formula to its advantage. Here, you have access to the entire city as you do certain missions for some characters, and each single one promises a different kind of adventure. And we have to say, the GTA IV missions are definitely the most action-packed and exciting the game has ever seen.

As soon as Niko arrives in Liberty City, you will be able to use Roman's phone. This will be used as your control panel and can be a source of information on what needs to be done to get the game going. You can use the phone to receive messages about certain missions, and may also serve as your main access to multiplayer features and anything you have to accomplish the progress in the game. Using the phone as a means of control for players on the characters in the game is a smart way to guise the illusion of the players having complete control of the action taking place in the game.

The online multiplayer feature is another exciting addition to an already packed gaming experience. This will enable you to share the wonderful experience of playing GTA IV with 15 other players and this will alter the way you have anticipated GTA IV to be. But more importantly, GTA IV is raring to knock off such great games like Call of Duty 4 or Rainbow Six Vegas off their reign and soon be named as the king of Multiplayer with a great new game modes addition.
